Tuesday
Competition was at its best at the Shepparton Golf Club starting with 86 players in the Norville Quarries Par Medley competition. In A Grade Colin Basham claimed a good victory with +4 from runner up Phillip Morris with +3. B Grade saw Ryleigh Shannon top the leader board to win with +5 from runner up Greg Coghlan with +4. Ball placegetters required +1 on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Keith Rae.
Wednesday
Wednesday saw 62 women hit off in the Free Agent-Tim Arnold & Choices Flooring Shepparton 4BBB Stableford competition with the team of Julie Cobbledick & Anne Pegg taking out the win with 47 points from runner up team of Sonya Hill & Robyn Woodhouse with 46 points on a count back to the team of Evelyn Hunt & Jo Foster .Ball placings went to teams with 45 points or better while in the nearest to pin on hole 2 went to Janet Gill Kirkman, hole 12 A Grade Pro Pin went to Kim Morris with 35cms, B Grade Pro Pin went to Robyn Wallace with a close 16cms and hole 17 went to Julie Myers. In the 9-hole women’s Stableford competition Rosemary Tyquin claimed the win with 18 points from runner up Cathie Barbetti with 17 points.
Thursday
Thursday saw a big group of 113 players for the CG & C Group Par Medley competition. In A Grade Wes Ridd took out the win with +3 from runner up Nelson Bay Golf Club visitor Michael Hoare with +2. B Grade saw a resounding win go to Peter Rathjen with +7 from runner up Ash Bicknell with +5. C Grade saw Bruce Sterling take out a well-deserved win with +2 from runner up Michael Dwyer with +1 on a count back to Graham Barrette and Helen Janner. Ball placegetters required -1 on a count back or better for a prize while in the nearest to pins hole 12 and B Grade Pro Pin went to Peter Rathjen with 212cms, A Grade Pro Pin went to Lloyd Cowling with 238cms, C Grade Pro pin went to Ron Cobbledick with 330cms and hole 17 went to Peter Lloyd with 165cms. We also saw a great Eagle by John Mortimer on hole 8 during the competition. Thursday also saw the completion of the men’s KFC Chicken Run with Jamahl Clarke winning with 23 points from runner up Declan Newbound with 21 points on a count back to Leigh Findlay and David Daws.
Friday
Friday saw 54 women in the KFC Chicken Run with the win going to Mort Davies with 20 points on a count back to runner up Robyn Woodhouse. Ball placegetters required 18 points on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Karla Ridd with 809cms.
Saturday
Saturday saw 183 players grace the fairways for the Cardamone Real Estate Stroke competition which also featured the Monthly Medal and the Qualifying round of the Murray Slee. In the women’s competition Leanne Bailey continued some consistent form to take the win with a nett round of 72 from runner up Sally Nayler with a round of 74. In men’s A Grade the win went to Gary D’Arma with a nett round of 68 from runner up Lachlan Gilligan with a round of 70 on a count back to Darryl O’Neill. B Grade saw our Monthly Medallist decided with Paul Trevaskis taking the win with a sensational round of 63 from runner up Matthew Bartlett with a nett round of 66 on a count back to Andrew Spratt. C Grade went to Northcote Golf Club visitor Paul Tobin with a nett round of 65 from runner up Ronald Davey with a round of 69 on a count back to Henry Coghlan and Mitchell Younger. Ball winners in the women required rounds of 76 on a count back or better for a prize while the men required rounds of 72 or better. On hole 15 George Wall secured a great Eagle, In the nearest to pin on hole 2 went to Lachlan Sidebottom with 164cms in the process also taking out the A Grade Pro Pin, B Grade Pro Pin went to David Keenan with 232cms, Graham Gribben claimed C Grade Pro Pin with 478cms, hole 5 went to Lloyd Cowling with 169cms, Stephen Smyth secure hole 12 with 173cms and hole 17 went to Patrick McMullan with 282cms.
Sunday
Sunday saw 44 players in the Stableford Medley competition. In A Grade Justin Williams claimed the win with a table topping 42 points from runner up Jamahl Clarke and 3rd placed Kyle Clarke with 37 points. B Grade saw another good performance by Wayne Ford to secure a win with 39 points from runner up SGA Golf Club visitor Ashlea Andrews with 38 points and 3rd placed Colin Burney with 37 points. Ball placegetters required 34 points on a count back or better to claim a prize. Sunday was also the completion of the weekly 9-hole Stableford competition with the win going to Lachlan Findlay with 21points from runner up Robert Weston with 18 points on a count back to Callum Thompson.
Upcoming Events
So, to the week ahead we see the women hit off in a Stroke competition with the 2nd round of the Monthly Medal and the women’s 9-hole Stableford competition followed up by the men’s Chicken Run. Thursday, we see a Stableford Medley up for grabs with the men’s Overflow for the Chicken Run in the afternoon. Friday the women take to the fairways for their Chicken Run. Saturday, we have a Par competition for both the men and women. Then Sunday we have our Stableford Medley competition and not to forget our weekly 9-hole Stableford competition.
